Valentine Celebrations - Conservatory Makeover

It's been a while since I have posted on Autumn Cottage Life, but I hope this is a start of something new for Autumn Cottage.  During this year (2013) I will be staging room make overs for themed events showcasing my home crafts and how easy it is to use crafting to brighten up your life and home without costing a fortune! I will also give the opportunity to include select items from ladies that attend my craft club and include them in the developments at Autumn Cottage.

For a taster here is a quick and easy idea to add some scrummy sweets to your celebration to share with your valentine.                                    (Click Once to enlarge)

 If time is short, no need to worry about making nougat, buy a packet or two from a shop and follow the instructions below;
 Place the Nougat on parchment paper on a baking sheet and warm in the oven, this enables more flexibility and is easy to roll out. (do not allow to get too hot as it will be too sticky, if this happens allow it to cool slightly and it should harden up). Roll out to the required thickness and use baking cutters to cut out your required shapes or letters (add a bit of icing sugar to the cutters if they do not easily release) and place the letters/shapes on a wire rack with some baking parchment under the rack.
Make a sugar syrup by heating a tablespoon of sugar with a small amount of water and heat until it bubbles and thickens slightly.
 Brush the sugar syrup over the nougat letters and shapes.
 Sprinkle with edible glitter and catch any surplus glitter on the parchment paper and put back in the pot.
 Et, Voila!  There you have it...romantic messages for your beau at very little cost.
I hope you have a go at this one and you can use other shop bought sweets such as fudge (which you may not need to heat before cutting.)
